Conawarra

Coonawarra producerer Australiens store Cabernet Sauvignon.

1999 Lindemans "Pyrus" Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot-Cabernet Franc Coonawarra South Australia

Medium red-purple; smooth blackberry, blackcurrant and redcurrant aromas have a gentle substrate of oak; the long, savoury palate shows the influence of Merlot in the blend; finishes with lingering tannins. (tasted 10/2002) (7/2011)

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Good bright ruby-red. Cassis, black raspberry, mocha, coffee, cinnamon and loam on the nose. Juicy and penetrating, with intense, highly aromatic flavors of black raspberry, cherry, tobacco and smoke complicated by notes of fresh herbs and coffee bean. Finishes long, firm and backward, with the substantial tannins reaching the front teeth. (ST) (7/2004)

Wine Enthusiast

Aromas are dark and stewy right out of the bottle, but unfold to reveal fresh herb and eucalyptus with air. Red fruit on the palate wears dusty, sweet-and-sour tannins, and a hint of the fresh mintiness. Not a huge, dense wine, but a robust one with chewy tannins. (11/2004)

Wine Spectator

An earthy, cedary character weaves through a generous core of berry and red currant fruit in this firm Cabernet blend. The finish expands nicely. (HS) (9/2004)
